What is your interest in the CreativesDC beta community?: I am an artist. I also teach yoga and pilates. I am here for networking and learning!

How are you using your imagination and original ideas to enrich our economy and culture in DC, and beyond? Or, how would you like it to?: art !!!!!!!!!

Bio (html accepted): I am a mother, artist, student, teacher, advocate and leader. At a young age I realized that using my abilities, imagination and creativity would always be the pathway to my blessings. Art is part of my life and who I am. My work is representational of my experiences; I have been creating art, since I was a child in Kindergarten.

I am a mixed media artist. My preferred medium is collage. I create several types of collage, traditional, personal documentation, and paper mosaics. “I have named my technique "paper mosaics." After sketching my idea and form, I rip little pieces of, different colored paper. I use the colored paper as my paint. I also work with pastels, acrylic, watercolors, photography and oil-paint sticks, then I bring these mediums back to my collages depending on what I am creating.
