Cultural exchange and opportunities, seeing what's going on

How are you using your imagination and original ideas to enrich our economy and culture in DC, and beyond? Or, how would you like it to?

As a choreographer and multimedia artist I'm am interesting in fusing different mediums and connecting with artists working in different fields.

Micheline Heal is choreographer and multimedia artist based in Washington D.C. and the artistic director of Mich-Mash Productions. She began her performance career as a member of the internationally touring American Chinese Arts Society’s Traditional Chinese Dance Troupe for ten years. She received a 2011 Young Artist Grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities to create a public performance series. In 2010 she was a resident artist at the Ireland’s premiere dance center The Firkin Crane. Her work has been presented by the Taffety Punk Theatre Company, resident artist at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (DC), by the Pink Line Project at the DC WEEK Closing Party (Arena Stage, DC), as well as at The Warehouse (DC), The Atlas Center (DC), Dance New Amsterdam (NYC), Green Space (NYC), Westbeth Artist Housing (NYC), and the Figment Festival (NYC).

What place/scene/event do you think DC needs to attract more creatives?

A giant outdoor music festival. And more pop-up galleries.
