What is your interest in the CreativesDC beta community?

Share resources for children and families for creativity and connection through art making.

How are you using your imagination and original ideas to enrich our economy and culture in DC, and beyond? Or, how would you like it to?

I own and teach out of a small studio for children adn families in Alexandria, Virginia. I highlight learning stories from our studio work on my blog and offer ideas for art at home through a column on the local patch.com sight.

Kathryn has lived in Northern Virginia on and off since the 3rd grade. She has taught visual arts education in school and community settings, often collaborating with classroom teachers. Her passion is de-mystifying the arts and helping people connect through creativity.

What place/scene/event do you think DC needs to attract more creatives?

Focus on arts as a way of creating community, strengthening families and providing kids a non-competititve outlet for hands-on high touch connection and expression.
